After a year and half I was finally granted a hearing on my eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits (a claim from 2004). I found out my former employer has hired a lawyer and that makes me very nervous so I am hoping to find representation even if it's just to prepare me for the testimony I may have to give. Does anyone know of someone I can call to find a lawyer/representative? This has been a long battle which started in 2004 and going up against a trained lawyer who does this for a living scares me and I want to be prepared. I can't afford much but I am very very convinced with the right preparation I will win and I'm willing to give a percentage of that as the fee.
