Default Remove hubby from lease and car?

Here’s a little of the background info, hubby and I separated the end of October and a week later he got put in jail. Now I am trying to get him to sign separation papers and he’s agreed to as long as I can provide proof to him that his name has been removed from our lease and the car. My landlord told me that there was nothing legally that they could do to remove him from the lease and the car is in his name, I’m the co-owner. Any advice on how to go about removing him from these things? Or if I can? Thanks!

Your landlord would have to agree to any modification of the lease prior to its expiration.

Is there a loan on the car?

    Default Thanks

I discovered that my landlord would have to approve it and I contacted my local DMV and was told that I could ask the lein holder to approve to transfer the lein into my name only.
