My question involves paternity law for the State of: FLORIDA
My ex-boyfriend filed petition for paternity when we split. He and I would like to settle the matters between our child without involving the court system. His lawyer said there is absolutely no way to end this petition without the two of us completing the parental responsibility, time sharing and child support forms.
Is there any way to end this case without having to submit all these forms.
Is his lawyer correct?
Isn't there a way to have a hearing where the petitioner wants to dissolve the petition?
Does family law have different court procedures?
Thank you

Why do you want to stop everything?
Having a court order protects everyone.
It is possible to have a voluntary dismissal of the action, however, what the attorney is probably trying to tell you is that it's very doubtful if the Judge would agree to a dismissal. You should heed the attorney's advice, his attorney is most likely pretty knowledgable about what your particular Judge is likely to do.
