SC
During the first semester of my senior year in high school, I missed numerous days because of a medical illness that the doctors still haven't identified. I've been to 3 doctors and had several tests done, still no answer. The school has known about my medical problems since the start of my 11th grade year. My teacher quit grading my papers and I ended up with a bad grade in his class because of that. I turned in every assignment except for one; all the assignments I've turned in and he actually graded, I received a 95 on or better. Not only did I receive a bad grade in the class but I also received an FA (Failure due to absences). I'm not a bad student, I'm an AP/Honor Roll student with a 3.9 GPA. My doctor has even sent them a letter stating that I have a medical problem that makes me very sick. (In case you're wondering, I get diarrhea about 3-4 times a week and it makes me very sick and puts me in a lot of pain). This is my senior year and they are trying to fail me for half of a credit! My problem is, the teacher stopped grading my work because I wasn't there all the time. He cannot do that under SC law. The only way he can is if its an unexcused assignment, which none of them were! What action can I take against the school?
