Question Paternity Test Against a Father in a Different State
My question involves paternity law for the State of: New Mexico

So my question is... My son now 12 has 2 possible fathers. I was 14 when i got pregnant i had consented sex and then less than a month later i was raped so i didnt do anything to find out the truth. His birth cert was left blank. Since that time one of the men has passed away (or so ive heard) and the other lives in texas. Im pretty sure who it is, I just need to know how would i go about having a paternity test done when hes in a different state?? I dont want to ruin his new life either, we were young kids then. I dont want or need his money I just want to close the chapter on that part of my past and know the truth. Any idea??

Go to your state's child support agency. You can fill out the papers, and they will send them to the putitive father's state CSE for processing.
