Default Ex-Wife Accusing Me of Showing Porn to Her Son

My question involves defamation in the state of: SD

i filed for divorce months ago. i havent seen my exwife or her kids for 4 months and i get a call out of the blue saying that her son is watching porn and its my fault. before divorce was final i caught him watching porn and told him to stop. once i told her about the incident she was paranoid that every time he was watching porn i was the one letting him. that wasnt true.

i met her the day she called and told me if i didnt pay for anti porn software and her sons counseling she was going to call the police. i said no and police were called while we waited. after telling them what i was accused of they told me i was free to go. what recourse do i have and is this something that i need to worry about. the son told me before that he and his friends learn to get on at school because they know how to get around the filters. so he was doing it before i even met and married his mom and hes doing it after i divorced her and left.

If you filed for divorce wouldn't it make more sense to get it over with and not worry about sueing her for something ridiculous. I mean after all if you filed you would have to see her over and over at court/meetings. Unless this damaged your reputation, got you fired, arrested for something you can prove you didnt do (in this case pretty much impossible to prove anything). In a divorce case where I'm assuming the 13 year old isnt yours and its in the early stages of a messy divorce (god forbid). However you can sue anyone, for any reason, at any time so its your decision but your basis would be on something that can't be proven. My advice is move on and try to put the past behind you, and start that stairway to happiness

yes i agree, like i said i havent spoken to her in 4-5 months and i want to move on but she is accusing me of this. i dont plan on sueing her for anything, i just want to know if she has a valid case. i mean i caught the kid once i told his mom and from then on she has it in her mind that every chance i got i showed him porn. which is completely untrue. her visitation only allowed her to see them once every 2 weeks. and he was looking at this stuff even before i met and married her and hes obviously been doing it since i divorced her. believe me i was shocked when she called me out of blue and accused me of this and just dont know what to do from here to protect myself from any further accusations?

Unfortunatly she can acuse you all she wants, however with no evidence or hard to prove evidence 99 out of 100 times the accusation will get no where unless there is evidence to back this story up. I mean 13 and looking at porn, i found it rather anyone helped me at that age or not so I think your safe at this point unless theres more to the story.
