Default Establishing Paternity Uncontested
My question involves paternity law for the State of: Tennessee.

My wife and I had our first child in 2004. She was born and currently resides with us in the state of Tennessee. At the time we were unmarried and she was divorced shortly before the birth. We know that I am the biological father of the child. We also know that in this state that because she was not divorced the required 300 days before the birth, that her ex husband is presumed to be the father of the child. My wife and her ex husband were married and divorced in the state of Louisiana. He still lives in Louisiana to this day. Her ex husband knows that I am the father of the child and does not dispute that and also does not want his name to be carried by our child. He, myself and my wife are all in agreement that I need to be on the birth certificate, so this situation is easily uncontested. We can not afford to have someone represent us or to have a DNA test. So we are going to represent ourselves. I have recently been laid off of my job so money is a big issue at the moment. I was just wondering how to start court preceedings and where to find information on which forms I need, which court to file in, and how to find information on court procedures? Thank you for any help

Try it:
File an agreement with the Court clerk that the ex-husband gives written consent to you declared as the father and your wife swears that you are the BF.
/Sometimes it works in Pa/

Thank you GV70, I will try that. Is this something that we could do by ourselves? and would the court house have a form there for us to file?
