My question involves criminal law for the state of: SC

My fiance was arrested today on a 23 year old outstanding warrant involving bad checks. What is the likely hood that he will be charged and why has this never been resolved before; he has been in the judicial system on and off for years. ? If anyone has knowledge of SC law in this matter please respond

He was charged 23 years ago, when the warrant was issued.

We have no way of knowing if he knew of the charge at the time, or if for some reason he was not aware of the charge. We have no way of knowing why the warrant did not become an issue earlier, or if he was aware of it why he chose not to resolve it during one of his earlier involvements with the judicial system.

He can talk to his lawyer about his options. Odds are it will be difficult for the prosecutor to present a case after this much time, so he may be able to get a good deal.
