No Vehicle Information on Ticket and Other Info Missing

My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: Massachusetts.

I received a speeding ticket a few days ago. I was allegedly going 60mph in a 40mph zone and engaging in a marked lane violation.

I was driving a friends car with him in it. It happened on a 2 lane white stripped road, so I am not sure how I could have not followed the marked lanes...?

The following information was left blank on the ticket:

Violator: (It has my full name and license number)

• City/Town
• State
• Zip Code

Motor Vehicle: (Nothing is written about the vehicle AT ALL)

• Plate Type
• Plate Number
• State
• CDL
• Hazardous Materials
• Make
• Type
• Year
• Color

Offenses: (Nothing checked off)

• Posted/Not Posted
• Lidar/Clocked/Radar/Estimated

My question is, what would be the best defense against this lack of ticket completion, the fact that there is no vehicle involved or the fact that there was no speed monitoring equipment used?

I have a picture of the ticket with the crucial information blocked out if someone thinks it would be a good idea to post that as well.

Well, in that case, the way I see it, and, remember, I am NOT familiar with MA law, the lack of information on the ticket does two things: 1) it shows the officer's lack of attention to detail, and 2) the missing information about how your speed was detected prevents you from formulating a defense strategy. I don't know if that will be enough for a dismissal. Maybe someone more familiar with your state's laws will help out.

Wait, the fact that he did not write about speed detection is a bad thing for me? I was thinking it would be easy to say that I could not be speeding if he had no way of measuring it.

No, the lack of the information is a GOOD thing for you. You use it to explain to the judge that you could not prepare your defense, when you had no idea what the evidence against you was. Since you are unable to defend yourself, the case should be dismissed.
