Default Fall Injury While Working at Someones Home

I was helping someone out in their home painting and fell and dislocated my elbow. I had to go to the walk in medical ctr and then the E.R. to get my elbow snapped back into place. It was extremely painful and now I have to go see an Orthopedic Surgeon to examine my arm this week. My Question is- If I have nerve damage in this arm as a result of this fall. can I sue the homeowner? I do not nor did have any written contract with this woman, just a verbal agreement to paint in her home. and I do not have any general liability insurance. I am located in North Carolina

Maybe. It depends on how the fall occurred. You can make a claim with her homeowner's insurance and see what happens.
