Legality of Give-Aways by Clubs

Are groups or clubs allowed to hold give aways for thier members. If the members pay a membership fee/monthly dues, and dont pay any money towards the giveaways is this legal, someone please help me out or lead me in the right direction, THANKS

A car, like I said, the members would have paid(been paying)membership fees/dues. So for the actuall prize they would not be paying for a chance to win the prize

If everybody gets a car, that's pretty cool.

If you're trying to run a lottery and call it a club, you'll probably end up getting busted.
