My question involves paternity law for the State of: TEXAS
The man who signed the AOP for my daughter may not be her Bio father...I didn't have doubts at the time till he started raising question months after she was born after he met a new woman. I was only with one man before him and it was before I met him. I don't know anymore. I am more then willing to allow him a DNA test but I'm scared what will happen to me? I didn't intend to hurt anyone and if this continues my baby will be the one hurt at the end and I want her to know who her real father is. What are the proper steps I need to take to get this done? I know where the other man is and I know he is willing to take the test as well...he also knows that he might be the father. The man who signed(my ex) still doesn't know that she might not be his but thinks she might not be...I didn't tell him that someone else could be her dad...but he has doubts. I want to tell him but I want to do everything the right way. My baby is 1 yrs old now. I have never married.I also never filed for child support because if she's not his I don't want him to have to pay a dime.
The easiest thing to do would be to go through a DNA test with the legal father and, if he's the father, that's the end. If not, you'll have another bridge to cross.
