Default 105/65 and Reckless in in Pennsylvania

My question involves a reckless driving ticket from the State of: Pennsylvania

I am 22yrs old and currently live in NY. I was recently driving down to North Carolina for job interviews. While passing through a long stretch in PA and let myself get over 100 mph (very stupid, I know). Well I passed a police officer who was parked behind an overpass. He pulled me over and told me he got me on radar doing 105mph in a 65. He gave me a citation for the speeding an another for reckless driving. This was a really dumb mistake and I've never had anything like this before. I have no speeding tickets and now I'm freaking out because I've been reading that I can lose my license for this. I am trying to get a job in NC so I can move there right now and I'm really tight on cash. I've plead not guilty and will make the drive for the court date, regardless of where I'm living at the time. I am aware I should also get a lawyer, but what can I expect from this? I need my license or I have no idea how I will get/maintain a job. I even read that I could face jail time and I'm really worried about all of this. Being licensed in NYS, what are the possible consequences I could face and how will the points/possible suspension carry over to NYS? Also to NC? Thanks in advance for any advice that can be offered.

As I understand New York's rules, you won't get driver's license points from a Pennsylvania citation; but if you get a suspension that will carry over.

I suggest consulting a lawyer in the county where you're charged to see what type of deal you're likely to get. The outcome of a ticket can vary dramatically based upon local policies and practices.

Mr. Knowitall is correct. The suspension for reckless is 6 months and the points violation is going to be another few months. I suggest you fight these tickets.

Besides the suspension you are looking at adding points in the state of Pennsylvania as well as a conviction of two major violations. Your insurance co. could find out about these violations and use that as an excuse to jack your rates.

    Good luck!
