My question involves a reckless driving ticket from the State of: Pennsylvania
I am 22yrs old and currently live in NY. I was recently driving down to North Carolina for job interviews. While passing through a long stretch in PA and let myself get over 100 mph (very stupid, I know). Well I passed a police officer who was parked behind an overpass. He pulled me over and told me he got me on radar doing 105mph in a 65. He gave me a citation for the speeding an another for reckless driving. This was a really dumb mistake and I've never had anything like this before. I have no speeding tickets and now I'm freaking out because I've been reading that I can lose my license for this. I am trying to get a job in NC so I can move there right now and I'm really tight on cash. I've plead not guilty and will make the drive for the court date, regardless of where I'm living at the time. I am aware I should also get a lawyer, but what can I expect from this? I need my license or I have no idea how I will get/maintain a job. I even read that I could face jail time and I'm really worried about all of this. Being licensed in NYS, what are the possible consequences I could face and how will the points/possible suspension carry over to NYS? Also to NC? Thanks in advance for any advice that can be offered.
