Careless Driving Ticket in Mississippi

My question involves a careless driving ticket in the small town of Pickens, MS.
I was driving through the town on a state hwy. were the speed drops from 55mph to 35 mph. I saw the cop and looked at my speed i was running around 38-39 mph. He gives me a careless driving ticket for speeding. I ask him my speed and he said he did not know because they don't have radar, but he thought i was going to fast to be pulling a trailer. (16 ft. empty flatbed) My 7 month pregnant wife was in the truck and says i didn't deserve that one.
Should i go to court or would i be wasting time. any advice would be helpful.. Thanks

You have a CDL? Then it's definitely worth fighting. Whether or not you have a CDL, I'd call a lawyer in that jurisdiction and see what they would charge to try to negotiate the ticked down, or (if I lived in the area) try to do that myself.

Thanks for your advise. I talked with my insurance agent and he said it would definitely be worth my time because insurance companies look at you as a higher risk with that type of ticket. I live near by so my wife an i already have it on our calender to go to court. By the way I do not have a CDL. But I have a couple of speeding tickets on my record that will go off this year so i was looking forward to a drop in insurance. then this happens....

I got a ticket on Sat. April the 11 2009 for careless driving for dropping snow ball ice out of my window at a redlight. It was a lot of taffice on the but I was in the for left hand lane and there were on cars in the turning lane naxt to me and we were no moving. So how was this careless driving.
