My question involves child support in the State of: Tennessee.
My oldest daughter turned 18 February 23, 2005 and graduated from highschool in May of the same year. I paid current support on her until my youngest daughter graduated from highschool in May 2007, even though I contacted the dcs worker and brought it to her attention. The original divorce decree does not stipulate when the support should end, so my question is: Should this current support not go towards arrearages? Also, I paid my child support faithfully (although I had acrued arrearages before hand) for the past upteen years until I was laid off from my job last April. The state of Tennessee suspended my driving priveledges in March of this year for nonpayment of arrearages. The state of Georgia is now handling my case since I am a temporary resident of the state of Georgia ( I know, it's complicated) but the state of Tennessee has refused to work with me and/or the state of Georgia. Any help or advice concerning this matter?
