Employer Said I Quit when I Was Really Fired

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: ny
i called unemployment today to check on my status and they said it was being held up because my employer said i quit when i was really fired. now i have multple letters clearly stating i was terminated because iam on comp and my dr and ime only have me on light duty and they dont offer any so iam unable to return to my job title how do i prove my case i was fired and who do i contact? and can they do this?

Let's back up a bit. You haven't really told us anything.

From what you're saying, I'm guessing that for medical reasons you were unable to return to work when your employer wanted you to? Is that correct? And if so, how much time had you missed? Exactly what did the employer say?

yes thats correct i couldnt do that job anymore i have been out for a year now. they said i am terminated because i refused to come back but my dr said no way. so i had no choice but the have them fire me right? now they wont give i or my lawyer the examination they did i called the dr office for it and they told me my employer said not to release it to me is that legal . now it sounds like they are hiding something that was their dr that they pay
