Default Laid Off, but Have Shoulder Pain from Work
My question involves workers compensation law for the state of: Illinois

I was recently laid off from a plant in Illinois and I was seeing a doctor about pain in my arms and shoulders from turning wrenches on flanges which hold the piping in the plant together.

The company recently got a lot of bad news with the market problems and laid the majority of the workers off so I didn't have a chance to file a workers compensation claim.

Is it too late to do that, I had to sign an agreement, and the agreement states they will honor any workers comp claims but I'm wondering if there is a timing issue on this and don't want to waste my time with it if it leads nowhere. I was laid off on the 2nd of March.

You didn't tell us when your symptoms started, when you first got treatment, whether your doctor says this is work-related, and why you didn't bother to file a worker's comp claim before you were laid off. All of that is relevant to whether you have a potentially viable claim, and to your credibility in making the claim.

Without knowing more all I can say is "Make a claim and see what happens."
