Default Changing the Father on a Birth Certificate
My question involves paternity law for the State of: Washington

My friend gave birth and didn't put a father on the birth cirtificate...

Then she got her ex boyfriend's name added to the birth cirtificate and changed the last name of her son to his...

Now we know that he is not the father.

Is it possible to remove his name? She would like to put the real father's name on but he is not in this country. Is any of this possible?

Thanks

Pursuant to Washington law,
Quoting RCW 26.26.330 - Proceeding for rescission of acknowledgment or denial of paternity.
A signatory may rescind an acknowledgment or denial of paternity by commencing a court proceeding to rescind before the earlier of:
(1) Sixty days after the effective date of the acknowledgment or denial, as provided in RCW 26.26.315; or

(2) The date of the first hearing in a proceeding to which the signatory is a party before a court to adjudicate an issue relating to the child, including a proceeding that establishes support.
If it's been more than sixty days, she should consult a lawyer.
