Stop Sign Violation VTL 1172 0A

My question involves traffic court in the State of: New York

I pulled up to one stop sign, completely stopped, pulled up to the other one (right after the first one basically) was only able to get to MAYBE 5 mph, put the car in neutral, rolled up looked both ways, went and bam, pulled over for the above infraction: failure to stop at a stop sign


any tips on how to fight it? I told the officer I did not see the second stop sign because at the time I didn't I was looking the other way to make sure traffic was not coming... any help would be greatly appreciated

ps: in terms of paying money because that's what they want the most... can I request volunteer hours or anything? because I am a full-time college student and a volunteer firefighter with no job... so money is no existent, and that is my main concern with no way to pay if it does come down to that

Explain this better. How far apart were the stop signs? Are we talking about a block?

You admit rolling through the second stop sign, so the ticket's in no way unreasonable on its face.
