Default Does Car Repo Affect Joint Title Holder
My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: Texas

3 years ago I got car loan with my father and i was co-signer. My father's name was on the title.

2 years ago I refinanced the car with the same babj. I paid off the original loan that my father was on and the new loan was entirely under my name.

But due to unfortunately events I can no longer pay the loan and will voluntarily surrender the vehicle and I understand I will be liable for the amount owed which will affect my credit.

Question: Does the bank change the title to my name once I got another loan and used the car as collateral?

Even if my father's name is still on the title will it affect him? legally or on his credit? he is NOT on the loan.

If your fathers name is on the title, that has no bearing on his credit.

The lender can only come after the person or persons who actually sign the loan papers, so your father is in the clear.
