Default Assault 2 Years Ago
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Missouri

2 years ago on New Years my husband was drunk and made a comment to a friend of ours that was inappropriate. Her husband proceeded to whip out his knife and hold it at my husbands throat. Some words were exchanged but I don't know what they were. Is this considered a felony assault? I just recently found out that this had happened and I want to know if there is anything that can be done about it now.

The victim can make a police report and try to explain the delay of two years in reporting the incident. That type of delay may cause the prosecutor to choose not to authorize charges.

If you have no physical marks to prove this, and they deny this ever happened, the chances are slim that he will be charged.
