Default When Do Workmans Comp Checks Start
My question involves workers compensation law for the state of: California
A friend of mine was injured while working at a major grocery chain. The fall broke her wrist and required surgery. The employer botched the workmans comp paper work and stalled for over a month. My friend acquired the services of a lawyer about 6 months ago. It has been over a year since the accident and to date has not received any workmans comp payments. She has ask her lawyer and he tells her they are coming. She called the workmans comp people and was told that was up to her lawyer. She has not returned to work and is about to lose her house. When do workers comp payments start and do they go to the lawyer for distribution. Help

Are you stating that she's completely disabled from work due to a fractured wrist, a year later?

If she's entitled to benefits they should have started by now. She can talk to her lawyer again, or consider switching lawyers.
