Traffic Violation While on Probation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas.

I am 18 years old, and have recently been sentenced to 3 months probation, due to truancy. I am under the impression that I do not have a probation officer to respond to. I was also not assigned any community service hours, and for that, I am thankful. Of course, since I am on truancy probation, I have to sign in before my 1st period class. But only one time, instead of the usual three. My question, however, is this:

if I was driving to school tomorrow, and I accidentally violate a traffic law, in the presence of a police officer, and I get a ticket from that, what will happen? Am I taking a big risk every time I get behind the wheel, since I am on truancy probation? I have been told numerous tales of what would happen, ranging from:

"If you're on probation and you get a speeding ticket, you could get your license suspended, or possibly end up in jail!"

While others feed me with information such as:

"Oh, no. Traffic violations have nothing to do with your truancy probation sentence, and if you get a ticket while on truancy probation, you're not going to get into any more trouble than having to pay the fine of the ticket."

I don't know what to believe, and some experienced insight would be greatly appreciated.

You will probably get 2 years in prison.. no jk. If it is a stupid traffic ticket, it's not a big deal. If you got a DUI, big deal. Dont stress. They are not putting someone in jail bc you accidently ran a stop sign.
