Default Returning to Work from Workmans Comp and Previous Position Not Fully Available
My question involves workers compensation law for the state of: Michigan

So here's the deal. My husband works for a large company that subcontracts for direct tv. After being with the company for so long he was issued his own company van. he had worked with this company for over a year when he slipped on a customers driveway and shattered his right ankle at the beginning of dec and Workmans comp was great the whole way through. Well now only three months later he's all set to go back to work and his company is telling him they gave his van away and don't have one for him at this time. They just want him to sit around and wait for a van to be freed up which who knows how long that could be. The Workmans comp payments are over and we have no other means of income. My question is, is there anything unlawful going on here and what advice do you have for my husband at this time??

Thanks,
Frustrated wife

They don't have work for him as an installer, so they've assigned him other duties. That's their right. Do you think they have to fire somebody to make room for him, or buy another van?
