Position Eliminated-Offered Part-Time Position

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Ohio
I work for a non-profit organization in the state of Ohio. I've been informed that they are eliminating my position as a full-time position, and making it a part-time position. (same title, same rate of pay). They are only cutting the hours in half and they would like me to keep the position as part-time. However, it will not be enough for me to live on and the bigger problem is that I will no longer be eligible for health care and do have a chronic condition. (asthma)
Will I be eligible for UC if I do not accept the part time position?

That is a question that only the UI office in your state can answer for sure. But you are more likely to be eligible for UI if you stay on the job at the reduced hours and apply for partial UI to make up some of the difference.

The state does not like to pay someone to quit so that they have NO income instead of SOME income.

Either way, you will be eligible for COBRA.

It seems that since they are cutting back, that they would not want to pay me to come to work and pay me UC too, also what about my healthcare?

PS: I don't know anyone who has ever been able to afford cobra benefits lol
