Exclamation Assault, Second Degree
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Md. Assault-Sec Degree. This happened in 01/04/16, I was found guilty, spent 2 weekends in doc. I have never been in trouble before, and have not since. I want to know if this charge is a misdemeanor or a felony. I'm in the process of trying to get a Governor's Pardon, once finished with the paper work, how long does it take to be Pardoned.

I will be waiting for your response, thank you.

Default Re: Assault-Sec Degree
I tired googling it but couldn't find an exact answer. I found this on one site.

second degree assault is either a misdemeanor or felony, depending on who was assaulted.
If you go the court clerk, they should be able to give you a dispostion which should tell you if the conviction is a misdeamanor or a felony.
It's worth trying for a pardon, there very hard to get.I found this site, which should provide you w. some info.If you were found guilty at a trail and there wasn't a plea bargain, you could look in to filing a appeal, other post conviction relief, maybe talk to a lawyer about your options.
