Default Assualt Causing Bodily Injury
My question involves criminal law for the state of: texas.i got arrested for assualt causing bodily injury to a family member.she admitted she hit me first,i need to know what should i do my case is coming up.should i get a lawer are go by self.and what do they usully give for first time.never been in trouble before.:

Considering that there is the possibility of substantial jail or prison time (domestic violence cases get it pretty harsh in TX), an attorney is always a good idea when your freedom is on the line.

What they give depends on many factors like the severity of the injuries, how many counts (for example, DV against a pregnant woman usually carries either additional counts or high degree of the crime), how much time has already been served, etc.

These are all things to ask your attorney who will be familiar with the court standards and typical rulings by judges in your area.
