Default County Jail or Prison
My question involves criminal law for the state of: CA
What are the expected sentencing for the following charges:
Assult with deadly weapon/instrument
Burglary
Petty theft with prior jail sentence
(that is all in Los Angeles County)
then there is a hold for a warrant in Orange county for
2nd degree burglary
Can you tell me if it will be jail time or prison

Strickly a guess here as there are lots of other factors that come into play. But I'd say prison bc of the violence and priors.

I am pretty sure the standard is the same across the US. JAIL is for those convicted of petty crimes. Prison is for those convicted of Felonies.

Sure, County/city jails may house felons awaiting trial etc. In some instances I suppose a Jail may house a felon after conviction.

Assault with a deadly weapon is no doubt a felony?

You are entitled to paid counsel if indigent if you plead not guilty.
