    Default Starting the Process

My question involves child support in the State of: Texas

My ex and I have been apart for over ten years, we have a twelve year old son together. We had never arranged for child support electing to handle this ourselves. In the past four years this hasn't quite worked out that well.

I would like to readdress the situation but in these economic times do not have the money for a lawyer. Although I know that would be the best case scenario is there anything that I can do myself? What is the process that I would need to take?

    Thank you.

Contact your local court to see if there is assistance for you to do this by yourself. Sometimes there are agencies that will help.

You can file for services through the Texas Attorney General. They can help establish a support order.
