    Default PTI - Pretrial Intervention

My question involves criminal law for the state of: nj

Hi i was charged with thefy by deception 3rd degree about a week ago. at the poilice station the detective told me because it was my first offense to not worry to plea for pti my one question about that is..i know it s a probation period that clears up your record of the charge but.. does it clear it up as soon as you start? and if you get in trouble in the probation period it will go back on? or do i have to wait for the whole probation period to be up before it helps my record? reason i ask is..now iam trying to find a job and iam worried that this arrest (even though i havent been convicted yet) will show up on all my background checks and mess up any oppertunity i have in gettingthe job... please help

You should expect that the PTI will show up on your record until you complete your probation, and that after that your record would show a dismissal.
