Default Co-Signer Rights to an Auto
My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: South Carolina/Florida.
I co-signed an auto loan for a family member who resided in SC in September. She subsequently moved to Florida and made the payments for 4 months (some late, but not over 30 days). She hasn't made this month's payment and her phone is turned off and I have no contact with her. I am currently serving in Iraq and aside from making the payment (which my wife is doing to avoid my credit being zapped), what are my options should she discontinue making the payments. I am on the title and registration as "or". My thought is to go to Key West while on R&R from Iraq in April, get the car and drive it back to my house in SC, transfer the registration/insurance to my name only and keep the car. Is there recourse for this action? My legal options, since deployed is limited. Suggestions?

Default Re: Co-Signer Rights (Auto)
Take a copy of the title with you when you go get your car; tell the cops before you get it.
