My question involves guardianship in the State of: Washington
Right now I am in the middle of a divorce proceeding wherein my STBX has left my step daughter in my care ( for a span o over 3 months). My attorney and I have asked for guardianship / power of attorney in case of a medical ( or other ) emergency.
Her mother now decides that she wants to play "mom" in this instance saying that I am NOT a de facto parent even though the court agreed that I am.
Her father is not much involved in her life, but he will admit to the court that I am a far more suitable parent for her than her mother.
Can I have power of attorney / guardianship granted through him?
She is HIGHLY adamant that she will NOT go and live with her mother and has absolutely no desire to. What if any, are her rights in this issue?
