Buying a Car from a Seller Who Never Transferred the Title

My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: TX

A week ago, my fiance bought a vehicle. At the time of purchase, he recieved a bill of sale and the title. Today, as I was getting ready to insure the vehicle, so I can get it inspected and registered, I noticed that the title, was not in the seller's name. We called the seller and he stated that he had bought the vehicle from his father four years ago and never bothered to transfer the title. I was a little upset. Am I now facing extensive fee's? Do I have any right of getting my money back and he get the vehicle back? Is he liable for any back fee's or am I stuck with paying double the price of what the vehicle is worth?

Ask the seller if he wants to take care of it for free OR does he want to pay for taking care of it after you sue him.

What did he do? Sign his father's name as the seller?

Why would you believe that the car has to be registered twice? For example, the seller could have his father convey the car to you.
