Driving Without Headlights

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: CA

Last year in November I received a ticket ..24250 for driving without Headlighs and I paid the fine of 190$ plus attended traffic school to clear the ticket.

After 3 months in February I did the same mistake and got another ticket for same mistake Driving without Headlights and this time the cop gave me --24250 and 14601.1.

what is 14601.1, when I checked the internet for details about the VC 14601.1, it says "Driving When Privilege Suspended or Revoked for Other Reasons". My licence was not revoked or suspended for the first offence. I paid the fine and attended the school.

Can some one help me to understand this. thank you

If you have been cited for driving while revoked or suspended, and you were not, contest the ticket and establish for the court or prosecutor that you were in fact duly licensed at the time of the citation.

thank you for your response. Today I called DMV to find out my Licence status. I am surprised they Suspended my Licence in December for the previous citation "Driving without Headlights" I am not sure why they suspended the licence for that. I received court notice to pay the fine but I did not get any notice that my License was suspended in December. When I called today they said they mailed the leter but I did not recevied it. And for the second citation they gave me a ticket for "driving without headlights (again same mistake ) and "Driving with suspended licence".

My question is How to prove I did not received a ntoice that my licence was suspended. And why they suspended the licence for "driving without Headlights", thats not a big voilation to suspend right? please advice

14601.1 suspensions occur for non-driving issues, generally under 13365 VC (Failure to Appear), 16004(a) (VC) (failing to report an accident), and 16070(a) VC (financial responsibilty issues with accidents).

Sometimes things get misplaced between DMV, the court, and traffic schools. The DMV could show an FTA on someones record, sometimes up to a year after the issue had been taken care of.

Generally, if you were cited for 14601.1 VC, you should have had prior knowledge you were suspended / revoked by mail (after 45 days, its considered good if not returned unclaimed), personal notification etc.

Seems like you need to dig more to find your anwser. You might consider a lawyer, since its a misdemeanor charge.

Go get your proof of payment of the ticket and take it down to the courthouse. This can be easily taken care of.

As for why your license was suspended, your license is suspended anytime you violate your written promise to appear
