My question involves child support in the State of: Florida.
I am a single mother taking care of my youngest son that is 3, I do not have a job right now and am struggling very hard to make ends meet. I am currently going to school so that I can get a good paying job to pay off my enormous ammount of child support arrears that I have, I think that it is close to $7,000.00. This order for child support is for my two older children which are the ages of 4 and 5, the 4 year old had medical problems and had to have eye surgery, so that is why my arrears are still so high. This will be the third year that the state intercepted my refund check, plus they were getting $200.00 or something garnished from my wages when I held a job. My ex is supposed to be going to request that support be stopped, because he understands my situation and has been taking care of these children pretty much on his own for the past 6-7 months. So, I was just wandering if there was anyway that DRCS will allow me to keep my refund this year, since I am really hard up for money right now, I mean it is to the extent that I have to get assistance from the state and the temporary cash assistance that they give me barely covers my bills, my rent is behind 1 month, it is just really hard right now. Can you think of anything?![]()
