Default Taxes for Corporation Registered in Another State

If you form a company in Nevada or Delaware but operate in California (or New York?), you need to pay tax to two different states, right? How extra tax do you need to pay compared to forming the company in California (or New York)?

    Default Incorporating in Delaware

Delaware has a low franchise tax, and no corporate income tax, so the additional cost of incorporating in Delaware will probably be modest. The exact amounts may vary, but Delaware's annual franchise tax can be as low as $89.

What do you mean by "as low as $89"? In what circumstance do you need to pay more?
