    Default New Owner Didn't Change Title

    About a year i sold a car and now i am recieving a auto lein from a towing company saying the car was towed and according to the dmv is still mine and i am liable for the 1600 dollar charges. the car is going up for auction and if the car is sold i will owe the deficit. is there anyway i can fight this i found the bill of sale

    Laws are different in each state.

    As you can read here, you were required to notify the DMV within ten days of the sale. If you did, you can probably get out of the charge. If not, you're probably stuck.
