Talking Offender Record Found (PC 1214.1)

My question involves traffic court in the State of: California
I had a traffic violation back in 2002, apparently I didn't pay it on time and had a warrant 8AH issued and 1214.1 PC civil assessment added. I made the fine payment of 342.00 and resolved the matter. I recently got a background check and 1 offender record showed up. Is this considered a misdemeanor? How do I get this off my record?
By the way, this doesn't even show up on my DMV printout!

In terms of any reference to California Penal Code section 1214.1 (you can read it here), that isn't a separate offense - it's a civil assessment in addition to any other penalty in infraction, misdemeanor, or felony cases. As for what your underlying traffic violation was, you haven't told us about it.
