How Can Someone Identify an Undercover Cop or Drug Informant

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

I was in class today and a random stranger behind me overheard me saying something about smoking marijuana and asked me if I smoked. I asked why she wanted to know and she said she could hook me up if I needed anything, crip, mids, regs, whatever, and gave me her number even though I hadn't even said anything. This made me extremely suspicious that she was up to no good. Nobody advertises that they're a drug dealer if they have any sense at all, unless they are trying to set someone up. Is there any way to identify a drug informant or undercover officer? Are there questions you could use to find out if they are legit or not? Aren't they allowed to say no if you ask them if they're a cop now? I'm just curious because I never know who to trust.

The only way to can tell is to buy something from her and see what happens. Better yet, you shouldn't be smoking it and you definitely shouldn't be discussing it in public.

And you're correct, they don't need to tell you anything, especially if they're undercover.
