Default Any Other Option Than Emancipation at 16

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Florida.

My boyfriend is 16 years old. He wants to be emancipated but we think taking those drastic measures would be too extreme considering all the benefits he would lose since he wouldn't be considered a minor anymore. His father is very controlling. His family is revolved around religion but its to the point where its being shoved down his throat and he has to attend churh four days a week.

His father also won't allow us to be together because I don't currently attend church. His dad is always putting our relationship down and its getting to the point where it could be physical between them. All he does is verbally abuse him and yell in his face. His dad is also accusing him of doing drugs and my boyfriend just can't live in an unhealthy enviroment anymore.

This may not seem like a legitament reason to some, but it's really getting out of hand where its affecting his school work and his job. Can some one explain any options to take besides emancipation?

I also heard about something called DCS?
My boyfriend's older sister who is 21, is fully on his side. Could she take custody of him and become his legal guardian until he turns eighteen.

If he is being abused he should contact DCF, aside from that his only option is to wait until he is 18, unless his parents will allow him to move out.

    Ok thanks.
But what if his parents were ok with him living with his sister?
Could he just live with her automatically or does legal paper work have to be signed?

If his parents give him permission to live with his sister he may go. And if they want him to return home, he must go back.
