    Default Obtaining a Deferral

My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Washington

I am 23 years old, and in Dec. the last ticket I had gotten three years ago for speeding or a failure to yield I think it was dropped off my record and put me at a clean slate. I was coming home from Oregon for a weekend trip to see family...in Centralia the speed goes from 70-60 then back to 70 then back to 60 quite often on I-5, I thought it was 70 and he gave me a ticket for 70 in a 60 when he pulled me over. My question is how long do you have to wait if you had a speeding ticket deferred several years back, before being able to defer another speeding ticket?

Well, the fact that you're 23 means that if you've EVER had a ticket deferred, it's probably too soon for another. However, you can call the Clerk of the Court and ask if they can check for you. I've heard of several instances where deferrals were not recorded properly, which would make you eligible. So it's worth checking.

BTW, even if you order a copy of your record from the DOL, it will NOT contain that information -- it's only accessible by law enforcement and the courts.

Where am I going? And why am I in this handbasket?
