Criminal traffic ticket on a suspended license

I got a criminal traffic ticket on a suspended license, but the cop did not see that I had a suspended license. The court is in another town, but I can call them on the phone. What is the best thing to do? Can I get it reduced to traffic school? Are they gonna find out that I had a suspended license? How will this affect me in any way?

The problem is that the DMV will be advised and then they will increase the suspension. You need to walk or take the bus until you get insurance and your license back.
