My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

I am currently 18, at the time of event was 17 - I was on ecstasy and had 4 in my pocket. I vomited on a police office and they released me to my mother. In the meantime, earlier I was pulled over and was put in jail for a warrant on the ecstasy on person. I was arraigned and am facing 10yrs jail/15,000 dollar fine. I have heard there is no chance of a 7411 being able to happen? Is this true, and why are they more strict on this the marajuana?

As it is your first offense you can most likely opt for probation, but a second drug offense could net you a mandatory life sentence, so this is your one bite at the apple (If they do give you probation). Ten years is a maximum sentence so I canguarantee you wont see that for a first offense, but jail time is most definitely not out of the question. You also better hope that they do not pin you with intent to sell. I know in my state (NC) 4 tablets or more of anything is an intent to sell charge. As far as beig harsher on MDMA than Cannabis, well every state is like that.
