    Default Potential Judgement

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Rhode Island
I had a long term commercial lease with a large national real estate company and my business was evicted for non payment, oblivously the business no longer exists, I was required to sign a personal guarantee at the lease inception. The landlord had threatened me to sign a judgement for the past & future unpaid rent, somewhere around $600k. I have no assets at this point, I know the SOL is 15-20 years in RI, just wondering what the likelyhood is of a summons showing up someday? I haven't heard from them in a year, but I don't feel great about looking over my shoulder for the next 2 decades...obviously I don't have an extra $600k (plus legal fees) to give them now. Help!

You may want to consider a chapter 7 bankruptcy so you can include this and not worry in the future if they will come after you.

Just because you do not have assets now does not mean you will not inherit something down the line. This large amount is not something you would want to hang over your had for such a long time.
