    Default Reaffirmation Papers

My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Ohio
I filed for Chapter 7 back in Nov. of 05, but i kept my house and vehicles. My lawyer sent my reaffirmation papers in for my house but my mortgage company said it was to late so they never reaffirmed my house.I still have the same loan and live in the same house. Therefore they do not report my payment history to the credit bureaus. Is tehre anything I can do to make them report it.I have 3 years of perfect credit with them and it could boost my scores up really big.I no its been a long time ago but im looking to refi now and could use some help on my situation. Thank you for your time.

Since the mortgage was originated prior to your bankruptcy, it was considered discharged in a chapter 7 as far as the credit bureaus are concerned. Meaning even though you kept the home, the bureaus barred the lenders who had loans or judgments issued to you prior to your bankruptcy from reporting on them after the bankruptcy.

They do this by BLOCKING the account numbers from being updated. Even though you are correct, it would help you to have this being reported on your credit reports it is impossible to do.

The only way you can have this done is to ask your lender of your mortage to issue you a NEW loan number and then have them UPDATE the information with the new loan number to the credit bureaus.

This is a common problem and the outcome is always the same, I have never seen any prior bankruptcy account number updated on a credit report after a discharge. Again the only way is if you can get your mortgage holder to do what I suggested above.

They said they cant issue new loan number because that would mean have to refi with them to do so.

They do report to the bureaus but the bureaus dont report it positive or negative. The bureaus just act like it isnt a loan i guess.

Exactly, they have these loans blocked, so the lender is reporting but nothing is showing up

From what I have seen in the past, the credit bureaus can not unblock a loan number even if they want to.
