Ask the lawyer to send you copies of the pleadings, or go to the court (if you know where the suit is filed) and ask for a copy.

When I do that what should I do after that. Because the court is telling me to get a lawyer. I have called and couple already and they have not responded back to me yet. I am really in a tough situation. I do not want them to garnish my wages. I am a single parent and living with my mother. All I want to know is what I should do after I get the copies.
