Question 0% Impairment Rating
My question involves workers compensation law for the state of: Tennessee
Lost my spleen in a work accident. Had to have a open splenectomy. Just reached MMI. Doctor gave me a 0% impairment rating. Not sure even if there is going to be any sort of settlement. Case worker said they will get back to me in 6 weeks. Any suggestions on what I should do now?

Default Re: 0% Impairment Rating
With no loss of bodily function, there's no compensation to be received in relation to to the loss.

Do you have any related issues, such as visible scarring or disfigurement? That may qualify you for a settlement.

Wink Re: 0% Impairment Rating
Scarring yes, from my sternum to 2 inches past my belly button. They had to perform a open splenectomy on me. There is no compesation for scarring that I know of unless it is on the face, neck or shoulder region. As for my impairment rating being 0% I was quite shocked. But with the AMA 6th edition here in TN I would assume it is correct. My case worker said there would be some form of monetary settlement with lifetime open medical. How the WC adjuster figures the amount of settlement was my question. I do thank you for responding though.
