I work in California however I am contracted and paid through a company in Texas.
I accrue .77 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) that is a use it or lose it schema by Dec. 31st. Having only accrued 3.25 hours by the 31st I requested that PTO be used for Dec. 31st. It was approved. However, I still worked my normal 8 hour shift on the 31st and they are now asking why I didn’t take the day off. Am I still entitled to that 3.25 hours of pay regardless if I actually took the time off in addition to my normal 8 hours I worked that day?
