My question involves guardianship in the State of: kansas
My child has gotten into some legal trouble. My child is currently living with the grandmother, my mother. This is not a living situation that I like but it's where my child is right now while the legal problems are worked through.
The grandmother says my child's attorney wants her to file for guardianship.
When someone gets guardianship that takes the parents rights away regarding that child, right? That would mean the guardian would have all rights to say and do whatever, whenever, correct?
What rights do the parents have once guardianship is given to someone else?
What rights do the parents have to stop the grandmother from getting guardianship?
What would be the need for the grandma to have guardianship versus just having my child live with her?
I do not believe I agree with this idea. It has caused a great deal of stress and strife and will only get worse.
